Service Dog Training
This type of training is considered and taken on a case-by-case basis only. It is intense and precise. Freedom Walk Training trains for Medical Alert & Response, Mobility, and Psychiatric Support.
Service Dog training is for those who need help training their dog to do tasks in order to help them with their disability, not so you can bring your dog with you anywhere just because. We take Service Dog training very seriously. Service Dogs are considered medical equipment per ADA and should be viewed as such like someone who has asthma and needs an inhaler or nebulizer or someone who has a pacemaker for their heart condition - service dogs are the same as these pieces of equipment.
We do not offer “ESA training” as there is no specific training needed and ESA’s do not have the same privileges as Service Dogs or Therapy Dogs do. Service Dogs are task-trained and provide a service. Emotional Support Animals provide unconditional love, comfort, and emotional stability. They are not the same.
Not every dog can be a service dog. If you’d like to see if your dog makes the cut, please call and schedule a consultation so we can talk about your options.
All dogs, regardless of purpose need basic obedience and leash training. Service Dog training starts out with either the Combo Package or the All Package. Once a package has been selected, we will figure out which specific tasks you need your dog to provide for you.
